This award celebrates exceptional educational projects or resources that have significantly enhanced arts provision in music and/or drama for Early Years and Primary students.
To be eligible, the project or resource should have taken place or been released from 1 September 2025.
A nominated project can be run within an educational, charity or commercial setting, without time limitations. It doesn't have to be brand new, but it should have occurred on or after 1 September 2025.
The judges will be looking for evidence that a significant number of students have benefitted and that there is lasting impact. When submitting your nomination statements, please provide detailed information about the initiative and explain why you believe it represents 'excellence', i.e. going above and beyond. Feel free to include supporting materials such as links to YouTube clips, mp3 files or photos to strengthen your nomination.
If you are nominating a resource - e.g. book, website, software, hardware (instruments/devices/physical product) or syllabus - this should have been released to market or made publicly available by 1 September 2025.

This award acknowledges and celebrates an outstanding musical theatre provision in a primary or secondary school setting.
The winning school will demonstrate that musical theatre is vital to both the music and drama departments and the ethos of the entire school.

Schools will be judged on rehearsal and performance opportunities provided; the educational value and positive influence on students involved in musical theatre; the creativity and innovation of the leadership team; and whether musical theatre brings the entire school and wider community together.
Applications should show:
- 1) A proven impact on students. The application should highlight the positive impacts of musical theatre on student development and wellbeing; this can include improved confidence, communication skills, teamwork, creativity and academic performance.
- 2) How the school is making the most of the resources and budget available and overcoming barriers within the student body.
- 3) How the wider school community is involved in the musical theatre programme. This may include support from parents, teachers, school staff, and community members in various aspects such as volunteering, attending performances, fundraising, or providing resources (costumes, props etc.).
- 4) Evidence of long-term impact. The school should demonstrate the long-term benefits of the musical theatre programme for students, such as development of transferable skills, or personal growth, self-expression, confidence, and career opportunities in the performing arts.
The judges will consider artistic excellence and outstanding commitment to musical theatre when making their decision. They would like to see evidence that a significant number of students are benefitting from the musical theatre programme, and that the school offers non-performance related opportunities for students within the musical theatre world, such as set building, costumes and props, lighting and sound, direction, or orchestra opportunities.
